Easter 2011

I realize I am reviving this blog from the dead, but figured an Easter post would be a fitting one to do so. We have been busy bees around here. Hopefully I will find more time to write in here soon!

So for Easter Chris hatched (huhuhuh) the brilliant plan to surprise the kids at the loop where I take them walking every morning. It is a 3/4 mile loop around trees and slopes down at the sides to a huge flat area of grass. Basically, it's a ditch haha. But it is somehow majestic and makes one want to run or fly kites. Holden love scaling up and down the sides. We decided to make an egg trail from the sidewalk and path that leads up to the edge of the gully, then place their baskets and car in the middle of the grass below. We figured Holden would follow slowly along collecting eggs, then see the car and take off running down the sides...which is exactly what happened. My favorite part of the event was the moment Holden glimpsed the car. He turned around and said to Casey and I "Car?!" In excited amazement like it was a mirage. Then off he went! There were some grandmas walking along the loop and they were so excited to see Holden's excitement. Very sweet.
